The Festival’s closing concert reached for the stars 50 years to the day after Apollo 11 landed on the moon and astronaut Neil Armstrong took “one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” This multimedia concert was hosted by esteemed NASA Astronaut Donald Pettit, a veteran of three spaceflights. With Pettit’s spectacular space photographs projected above them, Festival Orchestra Napa performed Gustav Holst’s captivating 1918 celestial masterpiece.
